First Place Award

Solstiss Academy ‘25

Receiving the Solstiss Award was both an honor and a turning point in my practice. With a $3,000 award in luxury French lace, I was able to push my exploration of historically rooted textiles in modern design. This highlight celebrates my commitment to craftsmanship and innovation—fusing delicate materials with bold, contemporary silhouettes that honor lace’s legacy while reimagining its future.

The back view emphasizes balance between structure and volume. A laced corset back provides support, while handsewn godets and ruffled tiered inserts create fullness. The skirt extends in black tulle with a scalloped lace edge, leading into a soft, flowing train.
